  1. Bug repelent candles and i've heard that downy or bounce dryer sheets work too.. you can wear them around your belt loop and such and you'll smell great too!..lol Also the Skin So Soft avon oil or spray for skin helps too.. i've tried it all..it works!

  2. a citronella (spelling ?) candle.  They really don't smell all that much, but you can find them at home depot, Lowe's or any hardware/home kinda place.  You light the candle and the bug's stay away.  Also OSCO, CVS, Walgreen's have them sometimes.

  3. bounce dryer sheets don't work, at least they didn't for us, we tried it one night, i just laid mine on my arm while we were sitting outside talking and a stupid mosquito landed right next to the thing and bit me!

citronella candles work some, and they are making them look alot nicer these days, Alot of people say marigolds and certain herbs will keep mosquito's away, but i haven't tried it yet. but i plan to plant some marigolds around our patio because i like them and if it helps then thats a plus :)   My grandparents use tiki torches and they seem to work pretty well.  Ive read some people on line saying Listerine mouthwash works, some say only the yellowish kind and some say all will,  your meant to put it in a spray bottle and spray it around your patio and furniture, i haven't tried it yet, but it would be worth trying. while were sitting out there sometime, cant hurt right? i wonder if it would make things sticky tho? One thing i know works great is a fan, they don't like flying in the wind or something.  we have a fan we take outside sometimes, but its kinda loud, and we like it quiet when we sit out.   They have little granule stuff you can put in your lawn that is supposed to reduce the number of bugs, but i don't know how well it works, and even tho they say its safe for animals, i still wouldn't want to put it where our dogs play because one of them likes to graze on the grass like a cow :)     Best of luck! let us know what works for you :)
