  1. Well don't forget to compare longterm pricing too. The free standing coolers and service are great but usually a home purification system is cheaper.

If you do want a water service with standing cooler I would recoomend Deer Park. They have a really good water purification process.

If you want a home purifier keep in mind that the cheaper systems like Pur and Britta are basic filters and not purifiers. Plus they can still be more than a high quality purification system.

The highest rated sytem on the market now is one called eSpring. Only a home distillery can get water cleaner but they are more expensive to buy, to maintain and can be on the messy side. It is rated for standards 52,  53, and 55B from the NSF, has attained a Gold Seal from the Water Quality Association, and is top rated with consumer organizations. Extreme Edition Home Maker Over even used it.

It is not available in stores so you will have to ask for information to get it. I have used mine and got my own standing cooler and bottles and fill the bottles with my system. It makes extra room in the fridge and I can have cold or hot purified water. This is great as you cannot run hot water through any filter or purification system as it breaks down the activated carbon that is used to clean the water.

  2. I use Culligan water in my house, and love it.  I think it taste the best out of the filtered waters I have tried.  http://culliganlover.wordpress.com/

  3. I'd use the sink/tap water. maybe get a filter to attach to your faucet, but that is definetly better than buying water.

Faucet water has to be purified and cleaned to city standards, that's why it may look or taste strange, but it is actually better for you than anything else. Bottled Water like aquafina and deer park and whatever else you buy isn't required to meet the same standards as faucet water.

  4. the sink.
