    arnt they the cuttist?

  2. I would vote for a small hamster.  they are small and easier to keep clean.  they can be held and are cute to watch in the hamster ball moving around the house and its fun building a tube plaza like this one, don't forget a hamster exercise wheel

(it doesn't have to be this big, this person just got carried away ;-)

  3. You can get plenty of pets. You can get a hamster, ferret, bird, gerbil, etc. My personal choice would be a bunny. They are adorable and easy to take care of (:

  4. get 2 mice because they are fun to play with and they do not bite but get 2 females because 2 males will fight and a male and female will have babies

  5. whatever you do, DONT get a bunny, rat, gerbil, hamster, etc. THEY SMELL. No matter how much cleaning, they smell!

Birds fit right into your catagory but your mother will not approve. Birds are MESSY. They, themselves, are clean animals, but they make a mess and it's not like you can train them not to p**p, you know? Also, birds are LOUD and often times mean.

Fish would be good, but they're kind of boring, you can't hold them, BUT you could start a salt water fish tank and get a few starfish in there, you can hold those, and they never die.

I vote for the turtle. They don't smell. They live a long time, are holdable, and good beginner pets. The problem is that turtles can get expensive too, and people don't realize how much attention they really need. Not as much as a bird, but some still. Turtles are also prone to many diseases, and reptile vet visits are pricey. If you do opt for one, I think an aquatic turtle is a good beginner pet. You just get them a 20 gallon tank, fill it with some fish rocks, about and inch, and the rest with water. Put in two filters to keep it clean.  And leave enough space at the top for a floating basking rock. That also means you will need to lamps, one for heat, and one for "sunlight" Other than that. your turtle is completely set. You can pick him up and everything. just don't handle him too much, turtles BITE and that hurts. a land turtle on the other hand can be more time consuming. with a water turtle you can put about 5 baby goldfish in there for food, and he'll hunt and eat them when he's hungry. when they're gone, get more. there are loads of sites about turtles, they'll help you find the right one for you.

  6. How about a Guinea Pig or Hamster? They have fur and they are rather small and have hair. How about a small rodent with hair. I would avoid fish or birds. Cats are rather independent and don't require too much care. Dogs are rather high maintenance and require you to be home all the time.

  7. There are a lot of choices out there!  If you are looking for a furry critter smaller than a dog or a cat you may want to start with a guinea pig.  They are not only perfect for cuddling but they don't let you forget to feed them....they squeak!  Mine has learned that treats come from the fridge and so now she squeaks every time she hears the fridge door open!  They also have a sweet little sound they make when they are happy....almost like a quiet giggle.  I love them!
