    Or a Ruger mini 14

  4. When I'm out strolling through wild, I tend to prefer a Katana to ward off coyote attacks, much like the ivory, dragon head handle one from "Highlander".

As I behead them, I yell "There can be only one!" and then wait for the quickening, lightning show to begin.

  5. There isn't one.

  6. Coyote attacks on people are extremely rare. There have been a small number of attacks on people in the U.S. and Canada, with most of the attacks involving small children under 5 years of age. Since 3 million children are bitten by dogs every year, your small child is millions of times more likely to get hurt by the family pet than by a coyote.

Coyotes have a justifiably huge fear of humans. Usually coyote attacks on people occur when a coyote has become comfortable around people, often as a result of people feeding them. In the rare event that a coyote attacks you or someone near you, yell at the coyote to make it back off. Don't run away since a coyote can outrun you (unless you can run faster than 30 mph!). I suspect if I had to use a sword to defend myself from such a critter, i'd opt for a cutlass.

  7. Most good hunting knives would work better against a coyote than a sword... If you were actually getting attacked by a coyote and by the grace of God had a chance to pull out a bladed weapon, you would want something fast and maneuverable.

  8. Coyotes don't attack anything healthy that is bigger than they are unless they are rabid.  If they're rabid you want to shoot them not slice and dice them with a sword because you sure don't want to get contaminated blood on you.

  9. any 13 year old could take on a coyote with bare hands. if i had to have a weapon thats not a gun, id probably just use a bat. btw, are you taking your meds?

  10. A light Saber.

  11. I wouldnt want a sword for protection against coyotes. A gun gives you range. Shoot it from a distance, that way it doesnt have a chance to mess you up.

  12. A sword for a coyote attack?????  Did the Dr. have your mother on any unusual medications when she was pregnant with you?

  13. you have a better chance of getting hit by lightening on a sunny day than being attacked by a coyote. and being attacked by wolves is almost in the same category.

the sword might be fun to play with, but its not practical.

  14. Boarding cutlass, or machete with about a 24" blade. Short enough to have a controlled swing or stab.  I would point out that a machete is something you are using for brush/trail clearing and is not a weapon. Whereas the sword is a weapon you might be violating some kind of local law.

I would recommend a Smith model 51 or 650 in 22 magnum  with a 2 or 3 inch barrel.  Easily carried.  If If you can't carry a firearm in your area then along with a machete carry a Starter pistol.  They shoot blanks and the noise will scare off a coyote, if not then hack it up with the machete.

I also find a good hickory walking staff to be very effective for both hiking and for defense. I have carried a 6 foot piece of hickory for years. I don't go walking/camping/hunting without it.

  15. Since coyotes almost never attack human beings none is needed. If you are honestly concerned about an attack from a 30 pound (max) critter perhaps it's best for us adults if you stay indoors.

  16. one that shoots lead projectiles LOL

I would go for a short light sword like a b*****d sword. I think that a big  fixed blade would work better like a busse one.

  17. It does sound like a stupid question but I have actually been attacked by a pissed off injured coyote. Believe me you want a knife or handgun over a sword any day.

  18. A roman type sword, used for piercing and slashing.

Low weight so that you can move it fast, coyotes attack in packs.

If you have a larger sword then you can become off balance, and leave yourself open to attack.

  19. Anything you can use as a spit to roast his asss with when you are done.

If you think yotes only get to 30 pounds then you don't get out much.
