  1. shoot it with a 22

  2. why  kill it? thats just cruel.

buy a cruelty free mouse trap at the store and let it out. :/

  3. I use humane traps made by Tomcat.  They sell for around $5 at any hardware store or garden shop.  Just place some peanutbutter at the end, the mouse walks into the trap, and the weight of tte animal shuts the trap door behind it.  Then you can release the mouse somewhere else, like a park a few miles away.

  4. Mush a bit of bologna into the trip mechanism on the mouse trap, thus making him wiggle it in order to get the meat.  Put the baited and set trap into a small paper bag.  When mousie is caught, simply pick up the bag and discard it.  Good luck!

  5. What food did you use?   Peanutbutter, cheese mixed together work real good.    Another one is to take a piece of bacon or sliver of chicken or ham and cover it with peanutbutter.   They will l**k the peanutbutter, but when they get to the meat they have to bite, so the trap will go off.

Be sure to put the trap behind the stove, or, in a place that your kids or animals can not get to.   I also found making a place in the drawer underneath the oven is good, as they can get in the drawer, but the trap will go off with the slightest vibration.

  6. Don't use a sticky pad to trap the mouse - You'll be left with a live and distressed mouse stuck to a pad which you'll then have to deal with. Just imagine having to deliver the coup de grace to it!

Get three or four ordinary wooden mousetraps - the 'Little Nipper' which has a full-width hinged platform has always worked well for me.

Whatever the brand name, try and get something which looks like this - http://www.lamp-post.co.uk/proddetail.ph...

The ones with a little metal platform always seem to go wrong or not catch anything.

Bait them with chocolate.  Find some that you can push onto the 'pin' without it breaking up, because the more secure the bait is, the more likely it is that the mouse will set off the trap while trying to take it.

Set the traps beside the skirting board because mice always move along the floor close to the walls.  Try to set them so they need very little pressure to set off, but watch out for your fingers!

Make sure the floor is clear of crumbs and scraps of food or the mice will go for them instead of the bait on the traps.  If you can find the place where the mouse is coming from then set the traps beside it, but not right on top.

And have patience, because you may need to wait a day or two before you catch anything.

  7. They make a sticky board you might try.

But.....it sure is good entertainment for my cat!
