  1. white distilled vinegar and water (one part of each) is the best thing to clean floor tile with.  cleans dirt and grease and leaves no residue, as other cleaning products can do.  the vinegar solution won't hurt your grout either.  sweep or vacuum first, then mop.  good luck.

  2. People at the tile store where I got mine recomended that I vacuum first, then mop.  That way dirt doesn't get embedded in the grout.

  3. Here's what I do:

    1.  Sweep it to remove loose dirt, crumbs, etc

    2.  Use a Swiffer floor cleaner with the wetjet bottle of cleaner

          or....

sometimes I use the cleaner from Congoleum that came   with my new vinyl floor.  It's a concentrate that you mix with warm water and use it with a sponge mop.

  4. I love Mrs. Meyers products.  Try either the lemon verbena or geranium scents.  Mix some of the all purpose concentrate with the recommended amount of water and damp mop frequently.  I have found that the kind of mop that has a removable terrycloth cover does the best job.  Dip the cover in the cleaning solution, wring it out, stretch it over the mop head, and go to it.  Your room will smell great afterwards and the products are nontoxic or "green" as it's called now.
