What's the best way to clean stains like coffee off a concrete patio?

There are plants surrounding the patio so I'm hoping to find a mthod that won't hurt them

I would use a pressure washer.You can rent them and you might have other things around your house to use it for.

The truth is that the best way, is with a small amount of Hydrochloric acid. I know that sounds strange but HCl is a solvent for concrete, a tiny amount rubbed into the stain for a minute and then washed off will get rid of the stain. Alternatively you could use very hot water on the coffee stain followed by scrubbing it with coarse soap.
