Question:

What's the best way to connect my PC to the TV?

I have an s-video output from my pc and my crt tv has white yellow and red connectors on the front (I think they're called RCA connectors) and a spare SCART connector at the back. I had a look around and there's a straight s-video to RCA lead or an s-video to SCART via an RCA adaptor which tend to be more expensive. Is the second option better in terms of picture/sound quality?

  1. D-link tv tuner.

  2. Unless you'll use it to play DVD's, I've been disapointed with the quality of most content going from monitor to TV.  The resolutions just don't seem to jive for me.

    I wouldn't invest a whole lot of $.

  3. Hi if your city have a radio shack,. best buy or circuit city talk to one of the clerks they are pretty experience in the electronic field. If that don't help try a local TV repair shop or call your cable network provide. Hope this info help take care.

  4. get some cables from radio shack s video and sound ones and on your computer right click go to properties go to settings go to advanced and display then click the power button for the tv it will work once the computer is hooked up

  5. Without knowing what video card, it's probable that it's not designed for TV out.  It's probably designed for projectors.

I would recommend that you get a TV Tuner Card or an ATI All-in-Wonder for this purpose.  Hauppauge makes excellent TV Tuner cards, superior to the ATI cards.

However you should be able to find a S-Video to RCA converter at your local radio shack.  Keep in mind you only need to convert the S-Video to the yellow RCA jack.  Just ONE cable.  The other two are for audio which S-Video does not carry.
