Does that 'Patch Perfect' stuff work?

the 'helpers' at Home Depot and OSH suggested using seeds and manewer (spell check?), but I have to big dogs in my yard and I don't want to take any chances, another thing, how can you get rid of those pesky weeds!!! I keep pulling them and even using Round-Up, but they keep coming back, it's so annoying!!!!!!

  1. You can't use round up on a lawn it kills everything, use Ortho Weed B Gone Max instead it is designed to kill weeds and not the lawn.  Use Scotts patch master to fill in bare areas.  It is a mixture of fertilizer, seed and newspaper which is what is used to hydro seed lawns.  As long as you keep it watered the stuff will grow nicely.  I used it this year and last to fill in bare spots in the yard and it worked great.

  2. So, let me guess, youre bare spots are from you killing it and not your dogs?

First of all, stop spraying round-up on your lawn- as it kills the weeds AND YOUR GRASS!

Go buy a bag of potting soil and a maal box of seed.  Sprinkle the seed over the bare (DEAD) spots and then cover it with a bit of soil- water it a couple of times per day to keep it moist and you'll have seedlings sprouting in 6-8 days.
