Question:

What's the best way to find an apartment in Buenos Aires?

I want to get a longterm apartment, not the temporary ones like they have on Craig's list. Are there other websites that anyone can suggest?

Do you think if I got a temporary place for the first month in Buenos Aires, I'd find a permanent place in that time?

Thanks!

  1. Argentina's real estate market is extremely fragmented and you cannot expect to find many large realtors with decent websites.  Can you please clarify if you need a furnished or non-furnished place ?  What part of the city are you interested in ?  It depends largely on where you'll work or study.  If it's in "el centro" (downtown) you might be better off finding a place close to the metro.  Otherwise you should consider simply geographic closeness.  If you want to look up something yourself you can give it a shot at www.inmobusqueda.com.ar or www.clasicasa.com (the first one only in Spanish).

Regarding your second question, I'm SURE you should be able to find a permanent place in a month.  I wouldn't worry too much about it, and market in Buenos Aires is large and extremely flexible (at least compared to other countries I lived in, like Chile, the US, or Switzerland).

  2. Hi, I'm suggest you to contact any travel agency in Buenos Aires , I know one that can recommend you: www.goaheadba.com  they have good prices.

    Good Luck!

  3. Hello . Long Term Apartment means minimum 1 or 2 years (especielly if you are not Argentinean. less than  1 year in fact is not considered long term). Most of the agencies use to rent for Short term but if you want stay longer you can check the Clarin for example: http://www.inmuebles.clarin.com/  Pay Attention: If you have no residence in Argentina then it's a bit different cause they might ask you higher cautions or a Visa or a CDI (A Fiscal Number). You can manage everything from another country but of course it's better if you rent a room for a while....so you can search and see  the apartment that you really need . Greetings and Enjoy Argentina
