Or anywhere in central/southern Germany to Eastern/SE France? For example how about a bus/train from Munich to Strasbourg? Or a flight from Germany to Lyon? Do you know of any? (I suppose it's easy to get to Lyon from Strasbourg by train or bus after that)

  1. If you can afford a couple of bucks,i take the plane.Costs you

    approx.370 euros ( The cheapest) .Munich/Lyon 1h 20 min ! Daily.

By train it'll take you approx.12 h plus .Cheaper though.120 euros.

If you are not in big rush, take the train.Lots to see while travelling !!

  2. train service in Europe is excellent and fairly cheap, you see great sites and meet a lot of The local people.

call or visit your nearest train station or travel agent to get detail travel information.

    Have Fun and good luck

  3. I would advise the train.  Bahn.de shows 10+ hours from Munich to Lyon, but it would be shorter from Frankfurt.

Check out www.bahn.de, this is the German Train system website.  If you don't speak german, click the Internat. Guests link at the top to get to other languages.

If you do decide to fly, be aware of where the airports are.  I remember friends using Ryanair and the flight to Frankfurt went actually into Hahn which is 90min bus ride from Frankfurt city.

  4. I would take the train.  Usually less expensive than flying.

To go from Frankfurt to Strasbourg its 45 Euro  with only one changeover

From Munich to Strasbourg its 62 or 69 Euro. Depending on what trains you take.

Below is a link where you can check out the German train schedules.  If the page come up in German there is a small button on the right hand side where you can change the language to English.  Hope this helps.
