What's the best way to get from the airport in Puerto Vallarta to the hotel? Taxi? Shuttle?

I'm staying at the Dreams resort. I've read shuttles are a rip-off, and I've also read I should go across the street from the airport to catch a cab, but I don't know whether that will be a problem because I don't speak Spanish.

  1. Hi

Just go across the street from the airport and catch a cab there but it won´t be much cheaper then the once in the airport.

and if you do go across to catch a taxi they will know a little english so don´t worry about it or just mention the hotel and they will know exactly where to take you.

    Have fun

  2. Ask your trip operator if there isn 't a shuttle that goes to Dreams.  Otherwise take a taxi which should be no more that $10 max.

  3. We took taxi's every where.  I don't think there were any seat belts.  But we survived and had alot of fun!

  4. It depends on what is most important to you. If cost is most important and you don't have a ton of luggage with you by all means go across the street and get a cab...they will be lined up and waiting...they all know the names of the resorts and locations these cabs are the least expensive option. There are also cabs inside the airport but they are "special" because they are on federal land...they cost more. You can also get a private vehicle transfer for like 20 bucks round trip from www.puertovallartatours.net

  5. Taxis are cheap in Mexico, but inside every Mexican Airport there is always taxis that are more expensive than the ones you can pick right on the street.

A lot of people speak English in PVR, even taxi drivers can speak a little English.

Its a basic need since their income depends in part by the money that foreing tourism brings..

    Enjoy PVR.
