Question:

What's the best way to get into shape to run?

I recently injured my eye and had to stop running for about a year. Now it's really been difficult for me to run, I can't catch my breath, and can't run without my knees or ankles hurting. Any advice as to how I can get back into shape without injuries?

  1. You and me both, i haven't run for several months and it does hurt to go very far.  Glucosamine is my friend, it lubes your joints really well.  Do some walking/running sets, walking less and running more as time goes on and you get stronger.

    Work on leg strengthening exercises like lunges and squats.

    Do some weight training with dvds like The Firm to build up your core.  

    All advice I am working on as well!


  2. start of easy  just do short runs if you near your limit i would stop.

    then try and beat it the next day

  3. try not pushing urself as much as you did before...i no...it may not be comfortable for u....set a goal...then the next day try beating it...dont over do it...
