  1. silly,    all things have protein.

simple as that.    reason why i understand this is..   i'm a vegetarian.   i get more than my recommended daily allowance of protein.

why not just check out the mineral, vitamin and nutrient components to each common fruit and vegetable.    you will very shortly find that there is more than enough protein to get,  even if you don't do beans and soy products.

need proof?  why not try it yourself and why not do some research about this..    here's a quick reference with the numbers.

i'd like to see this protein myth stopped eventually.. why not spread the word instead of fall for the propaganda that meatatarians and the government keep pulling to trick people into eating their meat and dairy.

(which has more protein in one serving than you need in a month)

too much protein leads to hardening of the arteries due to plaque build up from triglycerides and cholesterol.

i'm a vegetarian and i still get more protein than i need.

  2. Eat food.

Protein is plentiful in the plant world.  If you're eating a balanced diet including legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and you're getting enough calories to meet your energy needs, protein is pretty much a no-brainer.

Here's some good info on protein: http://www.pcrm.org/health/veginfo/prote...

  3. Peanut butter and nuts.

  4. the best way to get protein is to combine foods. yes you need beans & other legumes & nuts like almonds but you also need grains like corn, quinoa, whole wheat,in order to get all your b vitamins. make sure you also eat dark leafy greens with your legumes because they help bind the iron to your system this is where a lot of vegetarians are lacking

  5. staying away from processed foods will help ensure you get a little more protein.  and just remember, cows get all their protein from plants.

  6. Whey powder is great for boosting your protien.

You can usually purchase it from health food stores. I have flavourless whey powder and I usually mix it into my cereal, porridge, cake mixtures etc.

And of course get your milk, cheese and lentils into ya'

    :D!

  7. Lentils are good too!

  8. By eating!   Almost all foods have protein in them.

  9. Peanuts, beans, you know, those things that count as "meat" but aren't

  10. Since you say vegetarian I'll add eggs to the list that the other people have already put together. They are an amazing source of protein, not to mention cheap and yummy. (Please only buy free range though.)

There is lots you can do with them too. If you are vegan however...forget the eggs and follow the legume route.

  11. Soy...   Tofu, edemame, soy nuts.... its all packed with protein.
