Question:

What's the best way to get rid of "rest cramps"?

I get "rest cramps" quite often. They wake me up from my sleep and are extremely painful! The rest of the day, my leg will be sore from the cramp. I you're supposed to stretch the leg but that always seems to make the cramp either come back if it had gone away or get worse if it is still there. What other suggestions do you have to get rid of or even prevent rest cramps from happening?

  1. Try wearing Skins™ travel & recovery body-moulded compression tights to bed. I used to have the same problem and I found wearing the compression tights helps a lot.

  2. I hate those! They say to be really hydrated before you go to bed.

  3. lotion

  4. Do not stretch the leg out.  Try keeping it in the position it was in and massaging the cramp until its gone.  Those are very painful.  It happens to the best of us.

  5. it sounds like you are getting what are commonly known as charlie horses, make sure you ar replacing sodium lost when you sweat--this is really gross but drink a little bit of pickle juice, or as an alternative try drinking gatorade or something to help replace lost sodium
