  1. Try white vinegar in the rinse dispenser of your washing machine. They won't smell great coming our of the washing machine but after they are dried in the dryer -they will smell amazing!

  2. Wash them, obviously. And put them in the dryer immediately after washing. Even if they sit for just an hour or so before being put in the dryer, they can start to take on a mildewy smell.

You might also want to run a load of whites with chlorine bleach and hot water. This will remove any residual mildew smell from the washer tub.

  3. wash them! but dont let them sit in the washer when they're done otherwise there's no pnt. put them in the dryer as soon as there done washing=)

  4. Wash them and set the clothes in the sun outside to dry.

  5. Mildew or mildew smell in your clothes needs a normal wash for the fabric in question then a rinse with either vinegar or lemon added to your normal rinse programme. DO NOT put clothes in a dryer unless there is absolutely NO alternative - dryers ruin your clothes and the environment. SUNSHINE and fresh air are what is needed for clean, sanitised and fresh smelling clothes. Repeat as necessary until the smell or stain is gone. Remember to turn dark coloured fabrics with the right side of the item on the inside to prevent fading. Try halving your detergent use [we mostly over-do the amount we use, thinking more is better] and use the cheapest white vinegar available to add to your rinse cycle. Cheap, safe and very effective.

  6. You will have to kill the mildew, to actually get rid of the smell. Other alternatives will just cover the smell. White vinegar kills mold and mildew. Borax will also kill the mold or mildew. You can either add 1/2 cup borax to the wash, or 1/2- 1 cup vinegar to the rinse cycle. Or you can do both for extra clean towels. Both are great deodorizers, and work as fabric softeners. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.

  7. It depends on the clothing, if they are "colors" then use a "color safe" bleach, if they are whites, then a 1/2 - 1 cup of regular bleach in the wash will kill the smell. You can also use Borax Washing soda if you aren't comfortable using bleach. Be sure to use the hottest possible water.
