What's the best way to go about a makeover?

I've got a new job that requires me to look pretty (social networking promo girl) and while I have the job already which means they didn't think I was too bad, I want to improve myself even more.

Any good tips? I know you have them!

Stores such as Macy's and Sephora are two of the best stores that provide free consultation with skin care and make-up, along with a complimentary facial and makeover, best of all no appointment is necessary you just walk on up to the counters.

As far wardrobe style, I get some great tips from watching TLC's "What not to wear" and "Ten Years Younger", the professional makeover teams on these programs provide advise that applies to almost anyone. They have segments on wardrobe style, how to pick out the best clothing according to your body, and show you how to pair up and coordinate pieces of clothing with shoes and accesories. Both shows also have segments on hair and makeup. If you cannot watch during daytime, these shows air on Friday nights and on weekends. Check your local listings for showtimes. Browsing store window displays and getting ideas from how the mannequins are dressed is also helpful since they are always suited with the latest trends. As for hair, if you are daring, Bumble and Bumble in NYC gives free hairstyles with appointments (most likely they will cut and color your hair for a style, but be sure to ask them before commiting yourself to a drastic cut.)

Most importantly remember as you've mentioned, you already have the job. Do not make such a drastic change that you lose yourself or become overly confident or cocky...be yourself and a little enhancement should go a long way and give you the confidence boost you are looking for.
