What's the best way to go about getting new ID's? My license, SS card, and birth certificate was stolen

Im just a little confused about which form of identification I should attempt to get first. Some of my friends believe that I should try to get my SS card first, then license, and lastly, birth certificate. Is it possible to get a SS card w/out a picture ID? I'm thinking, personally, that I could use my place of work to help me get my license. They have a photocopy of it, and I am hoping that helps me get my license back. What do you think? Thank you so very much!

You need first your police report indicating the items stolen. Then get your birth certificate. Then get your driver's license. You cannot get a new SS card issued to you without proper ID.

Get your Birth certificate first.  You will need it to get the others!  If you are married get your marriage certificate next.  Both of these can be applied for on-line in most states.  Just do a search for the state you were born/married in and the words birth certificate.  The ones that do not do it on-line you will have to write them a letter.  After you get both of them, go to the Social Security office.  Then your driver's license.

Make sure you tell both the Social Security office and the Driver's License office that your identification was stolen.

Then make sure to check your credit report often to see if any new accounts have been opened that you do not know about.  You may want to join one of the services that watch your credit report for you.  It does not cost that much but it will be great if they catch someone trying to steal your identity.  If these people are caught quickly every time they try to use your identity, they may give up and move on to another victim.

Everyone should write their Congressman/woman and tell them they need to write some legislation that will protect us in the event our identities are stolen.  Once this happens you are basically on your own since Congress has not proposed and passed any legislation to protect us.

You need your birth certificate and ss to get your license.  So go get your birth certificate first, which you need to get in the state you were born, then go to the social security office and get your ss card (you will probably have to wait on it to come in the mail), then go get your license.
