Question:

What's the best way to increase vertical jump without using machines/weights?

None of those special jump shoes, or use of weights of any kind. Just some kind of exercises. Please link if available. Thanks.

    regular jumping

    net touches

    squats/hands on head

    '', hands in front

    squats holding a weight plate

    squats with bar behind head

    ankle weights with jump rope

    tip toe raises

    power rebounds

    palms on ceiling

    i apologize for the mentioning of weights against what you said.  go ahead and dont choose this as best, but im honestly trying to help you

  2. since we are liacking info on you i'll start from the basics.  

    1st -  lose excess weight.  that one should be a given, but the less weight you are trying to get up, the higher you'll go.  

    2nd - get faster.  sprint drills are helpful.  but the faster you are, the more springiness, and explosion you'll gave when lifting off.

    3rd - increase strength in your CALVES.  that is the primary source of your jumping ability.  simple calf lifts will help with this since you don't want to use fancy weights.

  3. Just jump a lot.

  4. I would jump on a trampoline every day for a few hours to improve your vertical jump.  I don't know how you would  measure it, but it could help.  The only other advice I would give you is to play basketball everyday against different competition.
