  1. put them in the bathtub (without water) it is no ones territory so they wont fight over territory...

  2. I would put them in a guinea pig run in the garden on the grass, then they have something to concentrate on while they get to know each other. :D Thats what i do, then they usually go in the freshly made up hutch together straight from there.

If they don't like each other, they will let you know. But never put your hands in if they have a scrap. Have a towel ready, and if anything starts throw the towel over them and seperate. and try again the next day :)

  3. a non territorial area!

  4. Excellent information on introductions right here: http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm...

  5. The first thing you should do when you get another guinea pig is quarentine it for a few days, to make sure they won't give any diseases to your current cavy and to get them used to you. Next, put their cages right next to eachother, so that they can smell, see, and hear their new cage mate. After a few days of getting to know eachother through the bars, you can introduce them on neutral territory. Watch them the whole time, with a towel in hand, so if one starts to rumble and shake from side to side (which is aggresive behavior) or they get into a fight, you can throw the towl over them to confuse them and put them back in their cages. Then they should stay separate, but still in cages next to eachother so they can have some cavy company.

  6. ideally they should be caged next to each other, putting a wire fence in between them so that they can see, hear and smell each other. they will get used to each other and then you can move them in together
