What's the best way to invest for your future?

I currently have a savings account but feel that I only get a pittance back in interest, I'm aware that in the United States you can get returns of 15% on your money or at least that's what I've read. Is there anything like that here in the United Kingdom? what's the best return I can get on my money as I strongly feel that savings accounts are not the way to go about it and that I can do, so much better.

Thanks for your help.

  1. The best investment you'll ever make other than possibly on a lottery ticket is in your education

  2. Keep saving up money and maybe make your own mini company!

  3. In general, the returns on your money are directly related to the `risks` you are prepared to take.  `Safe` investments, give very moderat returns.

There are thousands of types of investments.  You must look them up and study them a bit.

Most require a good chunk of money tho these days  - so at the moment, let your bank account grow (the bank will put it into a higher earning account if you ask).

The most `fun` (or excitement) you can get, is from investing your money direct with a stockbroker firm on the Internet  - this way you can control your own investments  for a small fee.  But take heed, this is also the riskiest!

  4. invest yr savings in real estates ...it give back alot.

  5. Tell your children to get a job problem solved.

  6. I have just invested money in a Guaranteed Reserve account.

It is held for 6 months and the interest is 6.1% but will not fluctuate like some accounts do.

I will see how this goes and reinvest if I can manage without being able to draw out .

  7. Premium Bonds are a good way to save and invest for the future.

They are tax free and you stand a chance of winning anything from £50 to one million pounds. If you wish you can have any smaller prizes you may win reinvested as new bonds, or you can opt to have the cash instead. You can cash them in whenever you like and all prizes are tax free. Premium Bonds are also a very secure way to keep your money safe. For more details have a look on the nsandi website.
