Question:

What's the best way to learn Spanish?

I've taken four years of Spanish in middle and high school and want to continue learning. What is the best approach to learning after four years of the basics. I can't afford, at the moment, to take a college class or travel to a Spanish country. That said, are there any good books or tapes that are helpful to those who already know the basics? Besides that, are there any other methods of learning that I could try?

  1. Probably the best (and cheapest) way is to get a friend who is a native to the Spanish language. That way you can practice your Spanish, and the person can help you or correct you when you get something wrong :]

  2. Yo puedo ayudarte, porque Español es mi primer Idioma.

I can help you, because Spanish is my first language.

  3. If someone learns Spanish through a school or books, they will understand grammar fairly well. However, as in all spoken languages, most people don't use proper grammar when they speak. There's a great website for spoken Spanish (probably the best for spoken Spanish). It's at http://www.learn-podcast-spanish.com/spa...

There is a video section to practice listening to native speakers and tons of phrases that you'll hear them use all the time. This helps a lot when you're trying to learn the conversational part because you'll know what they're most likely to talk about.

    Good luck.

  4. Get married with a spanish guy! But make sure he is from Spain, if you wanna learn the right spanish!

  5. The most fun method I know is to have a Spanish-speaking boyfriend. (hee hee!!)

You could also watch movies in Spanish.
