What's the best way to learn how to knit?

I want to learn how to knit but I want to know the best way to learn best answer 10 points!

I watched some videos on videojugg to learn how to knit.  Initially I tried to just follow the directions on the yarn packaging but I found the actual video where I can pause and replay was the most help for me.

They have videos for how to cast on, knit a stitch, cast off and different types of knitting.  I found them all helpful.

Try one of those "Knitting for Dummies" books. they have good pic's and clear instructions. You can probably get one, or something like it at the library.

I learned mostly from books, but I also found videos helped me a lot in the beginning because you can stop the video and see how the person is holding their hands, the needles and the yarn.  If you can find a class in your area, that's probably the best, because if it's not going well, you can ask for help instead of struggling along on your own and getting frustrated.
