We got jillions of dollars of our money being spent on lazy people who have free kids, get free money and get free homes and food and doctors. What's the best way to get them to earn a living so we don't have to waste our money paying for them . Gas is expensive and we need to be able to pay for it without being broke cause of lazy peopel. Got suggestions?

  1. Most welfare programs require you to work , get training, or go to school now.

  2. I suggest you discipline yourself to live on a welfare/foodstamp budget for a month (30 days).  Understand how it feels.  Then imagine (better yet, talk to some people who already understand) what it would be like in your life if this were the BEST choice available to you.

If that doesn't appeal, put in a couple shifts at your local foodshelf and talk to some of the people there.

  3. As long as there are politicians, mostly Democrats and liberals, giving tax payers money away, there will never be an incentive to get off of the Government dole.

As far as rich people contributing to help out, most, if not all people who are considered rich DO give "tons" of money to charities. The rich also start businesses that provide jobs and they pay the largest burden of taxes. Where do you think the government gets money to give away?

The government cannot produce jobs but it can enable businesses to provide more jobs by cutting taxes and regulations on businesses.

There should be a program for people receiving Govt. money to earn their handouts. They should work cleaning the streets, government offices, vehicles, parks etc. For every 5 dollars they receive in food stamps, furniture, help with utility bills, medicare etc they should have to work for an hour. The only exception would be the severely handicapped. Minor handicapped and homeless or indigent can still find plenty to do for them in the public sector.

When they find out they're working for less than minimum wage maybe then they'll get a real job.

Also we need to get back to families taking care of their sick or disabled relatives. Before there were government programs to do this, families had their loved ones in their homes. My grandparents spent their last months in our home. They weren't shipped off to a nursing facility and put on medicare or medicaid. My older relatives took care of them just as I did for my father.

Neighbors can also do this for their close freinds, visit an older person, go to the store for them, talk to them, they were all viable contributors to the society and have much wisdom to offer the younger generations. Don't put the burden on the local, state and federal government to take of people.

  4. Is there someone close to you that is lazy and you need some positive reinforcement...There is no way to make lazy people get up off their butts and do something and it makes me mad too that I am busting my butt off to work, pay bills, support my daughters..etc..and some people can sit at home and watch soaps all day or get drunk and high..Yet!I don't envy them, nor do I stay mad at them for long,hitch..The only suggestion i canprovide,is when you have kids(as I am doing with mines) make them appreciate a dollar and work there *** off for one more, two more, three more....Get me! alot of people were not taught work ethics..so it starts in the home..I don't worry about other people..they will hurt in the long run..when their lazy a$$ kids are saying Can I bum a cigareete off you,ma/pops..huh!lol

  5. Vote for politicians who share your beliefs.  Write to your State Senator, representatives, etc.

  6. Cut them off. I think welfare systems should be for short term solutions only, stressing getting back into the workforce over paying their bills for them. (I live right next door to a welfare office, I see the abuse every day.)

My really wild theory is that if the government is paying for you, (say an unwed teen mother who needs some help for a mistake), that person has to be on birth control the entire time they are getting a check, so the problem doesn't become generational. Lots of lazy people don't mind having next to nothing as long as they have a kid every few years to keep getting benefits. The taxpayers and the children who grow up thinking this is life are the ones who suffer. A norplant in the arm of the women and men having salt peter in their food would take care of the fun life of being on welfare. Without s*x, whats the fun?

Without being able to reproduce with no means of supporting the child, the person who really wants a life will get a job and their own place, and get the norplant removed, and have their kids and life.

The welfare system is so out of whack, its sad. We have a very productive organic garden, and often have lots and lots of extra veggies we have offered to give to Social Services. They had to tell us no, we cannot give them fresh food, because the possibility of one of the people sueing us, saying our fresh corn and peas and carrots made their kid sick are too high. Especially because we live right next to the office, and we have a nice house and yard, and outbuildlings. The people who work there are so burned out by the lazy people who take advantage of the rest of us, they cannot and will not accept things like fresh food, (even certified organic!) and coupons and things that could really help the people trying to make it. Not everyone at that office is abusing it, but the majority are, and that is very frustrating.

The biggest frustration is that they have changed the name of the agency five times over the past ten years, to be politically correct. Each time they do that, all the paper, business cards, forms, letterhead, envelopes, signs, etc have to be changes, and it costs MILLIONS of dollars, that could better be put to use in work programs.

And here is another thing...the food stamp program doesn't pay for cigarettes and booze, but it can be used for overpriced frozen dinners and boxed stuff instead of real food that would healthily feed a family. Most of the people with the government debit cards (paper stamps were too embarrassing for the "clients"), get all junk food.

  7. People need to stop trading them money for their food stamps.  That way they won't be able to buy whiskey and drugs anymore.

  8. i'll answer your question with another question: when are the wildly wealthy in our society going to spread the wealth around so we can all live a better lifestyle? why doesn't bill gates send everyone a check for a few grand? he could make life a little better for everyone and some living off the state could not make life harder on everyone. but neither will. that is the nature of things, some people are leeches, some horde wealth and most of us work hard to make a modest living. in other words, nothing is to be done.

  9. Not all are lazy, I have some elderly neighbors and they receive help from the government. I also do their shopping for them because their own kids are to selfish to give them any of their time. I think lumping everyone into a stereo type is wrong. Perhaps we should know more history and facts and carry on the great human trait of compassion and humanity. I am not sure when love thy neighbor fell by the wayside.

they are my brothers and sisters, and I am glad I am able to help, it racks up great Karma points.

and we are not going broke because of these people, we are going broke because our leader making really bad decisions.
