What's the best way to mix various types of music into a Wedding Reception Play list?

I'm pulling together a play list for a relative. She's provided a list of songs she wants, but there's dance, R&B, slow dance, Jazz, Pop, and a few rock songs. Randomly mixing them together would be a bit jarring. Are groups of 3 or 4 of a type better (especially with the slow and jazz)? For example, I'm considering putting 10 fast danceable songs together (various types) and then mix in 3 or 4 slow songs. Advice from people who've done this before would be welcome.

  1. Don't go from a loud rock song to a slow song.  Be gentle in moving from one type to another.  Let the beat of the music go from slow to medium to the more upbeat.  Let the transition be gradual.

  2. well on windows media player when you burn a cd, it has on there where you can shuffle the songs with a click of a button and you can do it as many times, and then if you're still not happy with how it is you can edit yourself too after it's shuffled....
