  1. Let her do it with you like its a project. (because she's such a big girl now)  Let her help you take everything apart.  Let her pick out her new bed (out of the 2 you narrow it down too) Let her pick out her new bedding and pillows.  Then she can help you put it all back together and put the bedding "she" picked out on her new bed.  That should work!  And if she ever says anything like just remind her that this is what she picked out and what she helped mommy do.  And I would skip right over the toddler bed and get either a twin or full size.  Just get a side rail so she learns not to fall out.  Good Luck!

  2. Wait til she's ready.  We just changed my daughters crib into the daybed (remove the side and put up a guard rail) like 2 months ago and she'll be 3 in a week.  She LOVED her crib, so we weren't really in any hurry to get her out of it.  When she started climbing in and out all the time we had a discussion with her (yes we all actually sat down and talked about it) to get her thoughts and see if she was ready for a big girl bed.  She was really excited about it, so we did it and haven't looked back.  I always say, if ain't broke don't fix.  There is no magical age a child needs to be out of their crib.  I'm glad we made it HER decision, made her feel special because she helped us do it too.

  3. That's the one Cadence. let them do everything when THEY are ready themselves,. I think the same goes for bottles & dummies, don't take them away, they're only babies once, god bless them.

I just asked my daughter if she wanted a bed when she was a few months off 3, she did so i put the cot away & just put a mattress on the floor for a few weeks & put a stairgate on her door. After she had gotten used to it, i then placed the bed underneath & put a bedguard on. My daughter looked lost at first cos she has a 3/4 bed, but now it's full of teddies. bless her.

  4. You can start out by putting the crib mattress on the floor for a few weeks.  That way you won't have to worry about her rolling off the bed and she can get used to life without bars.  I have 4 children and did this for my youngest 2 and it worked great!!

  5. My daughter was about 23 months when I moved her from crib to bed.

I placed the mattress on the floor and strated putting her for naps on the mattress.  By the second day I put her to bed in it too.  On the third day she helped me take down the crib.  She did get upset as I took the crib outside, but she had forgotten all about it by bedtime.  We went out and picked out "big girl" bedding for her new bed.  A month later I had her in a normal twin sized bed with a bedrail so she couldn't fall out.

Involve the child in the whole process.
