My husband is going to be applying at a Helicopter school here in Florida.

We're wanting to know if government aid is available for someone wanting to go through a flight school? Or what is the best option financially for him??

Any advice would be really appreciated!! :)

  1. there are a number of financial agiences set up that specialise in financial aid for flight schools. he should check online to see if he is eligable for any grants or assistance but they will not come close to covering the costs, which in most cases run between $60,000-80,000

if he contacts the school where he is wanting to attend then they will most likely have a financial agiency they usually deal with but it pays to shop around.

you want to find one with a low interest rate (obviously) but other considerations that can come into play are disbursments. some companies will offer to give the money to the school in small chunks (around $5000) at a time so you are not paying interest on a huge chunk of money that is just sitting in your schools bank account.

also some companies offer interest only payments for student so you dont have huge payments to make while you are a student

a very popular company for flight school loans is sallie mae financial. take a look at their website under career training loans and see what they have to offer. i used them for a portion of my schooling and had no complaints

good luck with it all. you husband is going to love it im sure
