Question:

What's the best way to package Lego for selling?

I'm trying to make room for films, etc. and am eager to know how I can sell this lego that's displayed on my shelves untouched. The thing that bothers me, is to decide which kind of packaging to pack a set into (considering the old original cardboard packaging's all recycled).

Any thoughts?

  1. Is the lego built into models and thats why you need to be careful packaging?

If so, I would suggest getting hold of some polystyrene blocks (that horrible squeaky stuff made out of lots of tiny balls). It is quite easy to carve using a sharp knife, craft knife, scissors etc, and that would enable you to create customised packaging to fit around your lego.

    Good luck

PS be careful where you carve it, it is really static and gets everywhere, like sticky snow!!

  2. I would pull it apart and print out intsructions from Peeron and include that. Packing a built model so it wont break will cost a fortune in postage.

go to bricklink to get a price on what the set is worth.

  3. Wrap in bubble wrap items that are fragile, and a good old cardboard box should be fine.

or buy polysterene or starch bits and place in a box.

  4. What have you got to sell? I have a 5 year old into lego at the moment and it doesnt matter if its packed in a box with tissue paper or polystirene bits or even broken down and packed in freezer bags. Building instructions can be downloaded from the lego website. Cheers Phil

  5. use polystyrene blocks
