What's the best way to package and ship Cheese & Sausage from WI to Hawaii?

Son lives in Honolulu & wants his girlfriend to taste the Wisconsin cheeses and meats that he grew up with. For us to purchase at store we can get bigger amounts at less prices than the gift shops offer, but, don't know how to package and whom to use to ship the items. Anyone have a link or info to share? Thank you.

  1. probably best to call your local post office and ask what they recommend.

  2. MMM...send me some!

  3. let fed ex do it for you. that way you know it is going to get there in good time.

  4. toilet rolls

  5. With dry ice in a styrfoam cooler.  I saw dry ice at Kroger the other day, next to the regular ice.  You can send it Express, which is overnight (if it's at the PO before about 3 pm).....This is going to be very pricey to send though!   Since cheese and sausage don't spoil that quickly in cool weather, you could wait until Fall and send it priority.  A flat rate priority box costs $9.80 and takes 2-3 business days;  so don't send it any later than Wednesday (so it won't sit in the post office over the weekend)
