What's the best way to pot an Oak Tree seedling?

Question

I must have thrown some oak seeds on my lawn recently, as today I noticed a shoot or seedling has started growing from one of them.

I have taken it out of the ground, as I needed to mow my lawn. I'd like to re-pot it and try and grow it - what's the best way?

I'm a first time gardener so it will need to be explained as if I am stupid!!

I would just plant it. It will grow, I am constantly pulling up those.
