What's the best way to prepare myself for the SF Bay to Breakers?

I haven't run since high school plus my knees are weak. Are the hills that steep? What exercises do you recommend?

  1. I'm running the Bay To Breakers also, haven't missed one since 2000.  I run 20-30 miles a week, so I'm always ready.

    Well, the Hayes street Hill is very steep, it's about 2 miles into the race.  I would start running about 3 times a week, make sure you run hills or hit the StairMaster a few times.  Make sure you have good running shoes, good luck and have fun.
