Question:

What's the best way to put a stop on my credit report(s)?

I'd like to put a lock on access to my credit report to help prevent someone else getting a credit card via identity theft. I know there are 3 credit bureaus, but I'd like to get their name and the best way to contact them (phone? e-mail, etc). Will this put a stop on my credit access until I remove it or does it expire after a certain time? I'm not planning on getting any more credit any time soon and would like to make it hard for someone to get a credit card in my name. Is there any reason why this would not be advisable?
