Question:

What's the best way to repair the taping on painted dry wall?

The tape is a little bubbled in some areas and the compound looks like it was poorley done and i want to try and touch it up....any ideas?

  1. These bubbles are called "blisters" created from when they taped the place they either did not get enough mud behind the tape, or when wiping the tape down after application..they pressed too hard wiping too much mud out from behind it... You can take a good sharp utility knife and score the tape on each side of the blister and it will peel off...You can touch that area up with simple joint compound(two applications) providing it is only an inch, 2 at the most without retaping that area..anything over that simply retape a small piece over it..let it dry..then coat the area twice..sand , sopot prime and touch up ..if you have the original paint..if not paint the whole wall each blister was repaired..

  3. ditto again, don't forget to prime the area before painting, also back roll with a dry peanut roller to take out the brush strokes
