What's the best way to restuff a futon matress?

I was futon man for years.  Re-stuffing can be done by a professional, not recommended by the average Joe. Here's what I did.  I had a full size.  I found twin comforters put them inside the futon cover. If you don't have a cover... buy one.  At one time I had two in the sleep futon and two in my sofa futon.  Throw in a foam egg create between the comforters is nice too.  If the slats are metal you could use zip ties to secure a piece of heavy board or cardboard to the bars to keep your butt from hitting the bars the same thing works on the bed futon.  When you get sick of trying to make them last another month I would seriously buy the futon with the springs.
