What's the best way to send a key through the mail?

I need to send a spare house key and car key through the mail. I'm thinking a regular envelope won't do, what is the recommended method?

I would get an envelope that has bubble wrap inside.  You can buy them at the post office or an office supply store.  You will probably have to use a 5x7 envelope and it will cost a little more to send it but it should get the keys there safely.  A regular envelope could tear open and the keys would be lost.
