What's the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon at home with the kids?

Do arts and crafts, play a boardgame, build a fire in the fireplace, have everyone pitch in on a really nice dinner, have grandma and grandpa over, rent a movie, go to the playground (but make sure you bundle up!)... The most important thing is having fun with your kids! :)

I say go play outside with them or play board games. That is what we do when I have free time on the weekends. Of course movies are fun, but these things are better especially if you are broke LOL But my kids and I are a bit of board/card game freaks. And its always good to go outside and sidewalk chalk or toss a ball whatever. I am far from good at these things (sports) and I am not in the best of shape but I try to go outside and play with them. I hate it when their weekends consist of TV and video games.

Number one on the list should be to ask them if there is anything they have been wanting to do. Then just have fun. Be silly and do something goofy. When they grow up these are the things they will remember. Playdough pictionary and flashlight tag are big at our house.

We color and talk, sometimes bake cookie or brownies, play games, I get them involved in helping me with housework, (they can fold laundry) things like that.

well today is Sunday here and we are going to go for a walk soon. We are just having lunch first. Then we will need to bake to make the snack they will be having in their lunch box this week. Then we might all have a read. On our walk we will probably stop at the park for a play. The kids are driving me nuts today. We need to get out and so does the dog. I think I need coffee LOL. Might go have one.
