What's the best way to start a fire on a desert island?

If all I had were stuff like sticks, wood, stones etc. stuff you find lying around, how would I start a fire?

Rub the rocks, flint, wood or stones together. Seeing that you are causing friction, and friction makes things hotter, if you can do it fast enough, you can start a fire.

If you were to have a magnifying glass, it would be even easier. All you have to do is to get the magnifying class and focus it on the ground where the Sun is directing it at. Place the magnifying glass over the rock and a fire should start.
