I've heard that 41pounds.org is pretty good, but are there other companies or services that stop the mailbox from overflowing with the pesky junk mail?

  1. stop looking in yer inbox and you,ll never get junk mail again or

change your mail settings to get rid of some of it

  2. The first practical step you can take is to put a ‘No Junk Mail’ notice on your letterbox to encourage the Postman not to deliver it.

You can have your name and home address removed from mailing lists by contacting the Mailing Preference Service

(MPS) in the UK or equivalent in the US. In the UK this is free service funded by the direct mail industry. The MPS can remove your name from up to 95% of Direct Mail

lists. It will not stop mail that has been sent from overseas, un-addressed material or mail addressed to The Occupier, you will need to contact the Royal Mail for this.

Try the http://dsa.org.uk/wfdsa.htm for international advice.

  3. to delete it and to close it avg free adition it protects you from fire walls junk mail and viruses also pop ups

  4. what i do is I don't put my address on ANYTHING that i don't totally have to. if they require my info but don't NEED my info i use a fake name, fake address, and my real cell phone number. if they require an email address i give them a yahoo.com one i created just for spam, then i check it about every 2 weeks and make sure there's nothing important in it and delete it all. my wife does not do this, she puts her name/address on everything, and she gets 10x the junk mail i do. i wonder how much paper the U.S. would save if junk mail was illegal?

  5. I don't really know, but you can always start by trshing it and i know if antone is lazy, but you'll get use to it.

  6. You can opt out of some of it online. The rest gets recycled; my township gets paid for the paper it recycles. I like to think that some of what I recycle winds up being made into toilet paper so that people can express their opinion of junk mail in the proper manner.

  7. If they have postage free envelopes enclosed, stuff those little puppies as full as you can and include a note saying to take you off their mailing list. You can also call the sender and have yourself removed.

  8. I don't know. Every time I get my mail, I get enough junk mail to fill up my mailbox. If you find out please tell me.
