What's the best way to stop motion sickness when flying on an airplane?

I'm taking a flight this week and while it'll make the traveling so much easier, I'm not looking forward to it. Most of the flight, I'm fine. The final descent, however, never fails to make me very sick. I've tried ginger/ginger root and dramamine, but they don't work extremely well. How else can I avoid motion sickness?

  2. We did a trip round southern Africa a few years ago that included a lot of 30-45 minute low level flights in light aircraft (4-6 seaters). My wife (who is normally a good traveller) was sick on every one, around 20-30 minutes into the flight. On our penultimate flight, one of the other passengers recommended she eat an apple 20 minutes after take off. I don't know if there is any scientific reason,or if it was just psychological, but it worked for her on that flight and the last one. Hope it works for you too!

  3. Take air sickness pills a couple of hours before the flight, and during the descent, or when you feel sick, put your head back against the headrest. Reading on a plane, with your head looking down, is the best way to get sick.

Also, sit as far towards the front of the plane as you can. Its a lot rougher and bumpier in the back of a plane than at the front. (That's first class and business class is at the front).

  4. i used 2 get sick when i was little

it helps if your awake 30 minutes before the descent
