What's the best way to store flower bulbs until planting them next fall/winter?

I planted daphodils, tulips and a few others, mostly in pots. Now I'm replanting the pots and finding so many bulbs. They look healthy enough. I live in southern California and it's almost 100 here everyday so I think I should dig them all up and put them somewhere but where? Do they still have to be in soil? Should they be kept moist? Help!!!

  1. Hang them in a hair net in a dry, preferably cool, place.

  2. Firstly remove the bulbs and leave then to dry. I find this kind of bulb is best stored in dry sand, or saw-dust, or wood-shavings. in a drawer which is cool, and  dark. There is no need for soil or for them to be kept moist. Moist = must = rot.

  3. You can put the pots in a dry dark place until next spring,or put the bulbs in a pair of pantyhose and place in the crisper compartment of your fridge until spring.
