What's the best way to teach my baby male cockatiel to talk and whistle?

When i first got my cockatiel i had to take time to talk to him and say his name alot and also have him next to the computer and i put melodies on like jingle bells.....after i did that for about 3 weeks my cockatiel learned that song!!!   hope this helps

Well usually a male cockatiel will learn his own whistles and only say words he hears you saying all the time. A female cockatiel will not whistle she will only tweet. Only the males will talk and whistle tunes they hear daily.
