  1. sprint 3-4 times a day for 1 to 1 and a half minutes non-stop by doing this, you'll be pushing yourself to the limits and thus, you'll eventually become faster

  2. Come to Florida and go to the Alligator farms then jump the fence.RRRRUUUUUUNNNNNN FFFFOOOORRRREEEESSSTTTTT RRRRRUUUUNNNN!!!!!

  3. a lot of acceleration comes from your calfs, so if you can work that out it'll eventually drastically increase your acceleration.  I went from a 5.3 40 to a 4.5.

I recommend doing alternating days of workouts with and without ankle weights, doing jumps on a track where you push off with the front of your foot.  helps a lot, good luck.

  4. just stay really fit and do sprint traning on grass with wet shoes and mud. Or even weights as it makes the legs stronger and makes the smaller muscles sharper and faster.

  5. I found doing hamstring and calf muscle weight training improved my speed by about 5 -10 metres (combined with sprint practice and distance work, and full body weight training).

I also mixed distance running with very steep hill running - I would sprint up the hill as far as I could then jog back down then turn around and sprint up again.

There are also some other good hints given already which I would agree with, especially joining an athletics club, as I also picked up a lot of sprinting tips there.

  6. Well you need muscle to run fast.

And not just in your legs, sprinting requires the whole body to work as one unit to get you going.

Work on your legs, your core and your uper body.

But make sure you practise sprinting as well. It might be an idea to go to your local athletics club and join there. The will be able to help with your sprinting technique.

NEVER lose that fitness, as a Rugby player that is the biggest asset you can have.

Also work on your elusiveness, a good step can be as potent as pace.

  7. get sum ladders and start doing quick feet in between them

not only does it improve speed, it also improves agility and the capabiltity to sidestep/dummy

an alternative is running up the stairs, putting both feet on the same step, or do the same with pavement outside
