  1. Yeah, by boat, you can also check on Croatian website:

    http://www.jadrolinija.hr

Go from Ancona to Split...and Dubrovnik is must.

  2. Cruise. That's the best way you can land up to Croatia. You can book Cruiseliner Tickets which operates between Italy and Croatia from http://www.traghetti-croazia.it .

It's an Italian site though . . but you can always call them.

  3. I went to  Slovenia and Croatia and flew into and out of Trieste (Italy).  I took the train from Trieste (or just north) to Ljublijana and eventually made it to Zargreb.  There are no trains down the coast in Croatia so buses are the main form of transport after that. Coming back up the coast form Dubrovnik I ended up in Rijeka which has lots of buses to lots of places.  I didn't travel by sea, which may have been nice, but I literally missed the boats (they don;t travel everyday)

  4. From Ancona (3h 30min from Rome by train) to Split by ferry boat (7 hours) www.jadrolinija.it

    with "SNAV" high speed (Ancona/Split 3hours) www.snav.it

From Rome to Split, Dubrovnik by plain www.croatiaairlines.com.

    have a nice trip bye

  5. Definitely by ferry, but it depends on where you want to go.

We drove all the way down from Trieste to Dubrovnik and there were cops with radars every few kilometers, and the speed limit was so unbelievably slow we got 3 tickets (which had to be paid on the spot).

But we took the road closest the sea. I think there's a newer highway.

    Buon viaggio!
