You could like work and send them money which would still count.  You could get e bunch of people together and build them a house.  You could cook food for them.  You also could even educate them.  Even tech them how to plant vegetables.

If you're not able to give them anything, try your time? It is one of the most valuable things. If you're religious offer to take them to church.

One of the best things you can do is start by encouraging them to "make something happen" by sparking an interest...to get them to help others with what talents they have. Maybe find cheap recipes like Chili and help them make it - something that will last a few days.

Where there's a will there's a way :) It's wonderful that you want to help, that itself is a great gift.
