What's the best web hosting company?

Hi,

I've just developed my first web site and would like to know what's the best way to host it. I'm in Brazil and the site is aimed at Brazilian web users although the domain name is just dot com. Do I have to host it with a Brazilian company or can it be anywhere in the world.

Basically I'm looking for a good price matched with good quality. Any suggestions?

Also, while I'm here - I bought the domain name six months ago for U$30 yearly. Is there a way I can register it with another company for cheaper?

Thanks

  1. I recommend Host Gator for hosting and Go Daddy for domains.

  2. Hi

    siteground.com <- Cheap hosting

Also has ticket/live chat system for support.

Yeah you can host is anywhere in the world, and $30 per year is expensive compared to what is offered with siteground.

Also, yes you can transfer the domain to siteground for a small fee (you will have to pay with any company).

    So yeah...http://www.siteground.com i would reccommend.

P.S They have good quality fast servers too with 0% downtime.

  3. Hello Ian,

You can host your website anywhere in the world - it doesn't matter where you live.

There is no "best" company out there but rather what you should be looking for is one that is more in line with what you want to do.

For example, if you're simply looking for disk space and bandwidth (usually not the only things you should look at), go with http://www.midphase.com/

But if you're looking for a company that gets more involved and helps people learn and grow on the Web, go with eVentureBiz: http://eventurebiz.com

  4. Freewebs!

  5. bluehost webhosting is the best one

  6. The "best" hosting company is not usually the cheapest. With hosting as with everything else, you tend to get what you pay for. If you want high reliability, automatic backups and restore, etc etc, that comes at a price.

I've been using 1&1 for professional websites for years and their managed server packages are excellent. Expensive, possibly, but excellent.

  7. I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html

    They're the best:

    1. You get a free domain from them (actually 2 if you use the promo code, more about that later), or you can use one of these free domains to transfer your existing one to Dreamhost, and extend its' registration for one more year, all for free of course.

    *****************************

How do you do this? Just pick this 3rd option at signup page:

"I already own a domain, but I want to host it with you and transfer the registration for free!"

Follow the instructions and transfer your domain to Dreamhost. This is free, even the renewals are free for as long as you are Dreamhost customer. Plus if you use the promo code PLUS you get additional domain for free!

    2. They have 500 GB of Disk Space and increasing

    3. 5TB (5000 GB) of Bandwidth and increasing

    4. You can use their huge Disk Space and host multiple sites on a single account.

    5. Their price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly)

    6. Which is a pretty standard price but they currently have a promotion:

Use the Promo Code: PLUS (at sign up page) and get a $50 discount + 2 Free Domain Names

    7. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month)

  8. Hi yes I agree, hostgator for your hosting and Godaddy for domains

You will need to pay a small fee to transfer your name to godaddy but you will only be paying about $10 per year so its worth it.

    check godaddy for exact details...

  9. Take into consideration that web hosting is a global service. It does not matter what country you are located in; US, UK, Canada or Brasil. It is good to note that the cost of hosting services in most countries is generally a little more expensive in comparison to the same services in Canada and the United States. Specifically, American web hosts offer a much better value for money than any local hosting.

Take a look at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them. Their service is really great and easy to use.

They offer a domain for free when purchasing their web hosting service. You can also use your existing domains with them. They support all domain names and you can register additional domains via your account after buying their web hosting plan (each domain for 9.99 /year). However they just sell domains with com, net, info and biz extensions, they support all international extensions.

  10. You don't have to pick a host in Brazil.

Try http://www.hostamina.com - they have really good support, fast servers, and cheaper domains.

  11. IX are the best and are only $5 a month
