I am doing some research on flat renting websites. Websites for other cities so i can compare would be great.

Down below you'll see a few examples of sites that have apartments for rent in New York city. Depending on where in new york (Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, etc) and your price range, some sites may help you out, others may not.

So, here are a few examples of some sites I looked at when helping out a friend find his apartment; FYI: he ended up sharing a flat with 3 others near the Federal Reserve section of Manhattan -- nice neighborhood -- John Street. He ended up using a broker service to find his place though. Less hassle (usually) but more expensive (commissions, etc).
