I grown out my ice skates, and i want to get really good ice skates for $20- $100. My mom doesn't like skates that are over $100. Which can be difficult. Can anyone please recommend selling websites for ice skates?

  1. I'll sell you my used ones for $25. It was $50 but I used them for 6 months. Email me @ heidimighty3@yahoo.com. Size 6.

  2. eBay

  3. skatebuys.com

  4. If you can live with used skates, you might be able to get more for your money.  Make sure you know your correct size and width in each brand before you go looking for deals.

Check with area skate shops.  A lot of shops sell used boots and blades on consignment.  Sometimes they're even fairly new!  A lof of skaters have growing feet!

Check at your rink.  Many rinks have bulletin boards for selling used skates.  Or ask other skater's parents and coaches.  If they're like most skating families, they end up with pairs of skates sitting at their house that are too small or not as supportive as what their skater needs.

Ebay often has new and used skates for lower prices than retail.  But the downside is you can't try them on, which is why it's best to know specifically what you're looking for.  Many times skaters order custom skates and when they get them, for whatever reason, they don't fit.  Because they're customs, they can't return them.

Check online or the phonebook for used sporting goods stores.  I suggest this because it's another opportunity to make someone else's loss your gain.  These stores sell new and used skates (mostly during winter), but it's another place that you can sometimes find an awesome deal.  It may take some time though.  You may have to stop back a few times to see what they've gotten in.  I was looking for some pretty low level skates for my stepdaughter and stumbled upon a gently used pair of Harlick High Testers with a Coronation Coment blade -- in great shape!  I got them for $50!!!  Normally a boot and blade that would cost somewhere in the area of $700!!!  I snapped them up since that's what I wear.  Sometimes when skaters outgrow their skates, their parents would rather get the $10 from the resale shop than nothing at all.

The hard part with online sales is you can't try the skate on.  Shipping isn't cheap, so if you end up going back and forth on sizing, that can add up.  If you get professionally fitted, they can tell you exactly what size, width, brand and model would be best for you.  Then you know exactly what to look for.  Good luck!

  5. As you probably already know, it will be diffucult to find good skates for that cheap. But here are a couple sites to help buy skates:

Skates for Less (These are skates that are discounted, but most of them are still above $100)

    http://www.skatesforless.net/home.php?ca...

Here are skates on the website above that barely are under $100)

    http://www.skatesforless.net/product.php...

Skate buys (They have some fair priced skates, some under $100)

    http://www.skate-buys.com/skatesbybrand....

Here is some skates on that website that are under $100:

    http://www.skate-buys.com/rifisk1.html

    http://www.skate-buys.com/donjafisk.html

    http://www.skate-buys.com/donjaicesk.htm...

Discount Skate wear (They have a wide selection to chose from)

    http://www.discountskatewear.com/s-2-ska...

Jackson (They have a package that is $99.99)

    http://www.discountskatewear.com/m-3-jac...

    Reidell

    http://www.discountskatewear.com/m-8-rie...

    Then there is Ebay:

    http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll...

    Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url...

Out of those two I like Amazon the best, because it is more reliable, and you aren't sort of 'betting' on it. I have bought things off Amazon too.

Looking at customer reviews of the website, and the skate brand you want will help you determine what type of skates, and where to get them. That way when you purchase your skates you can feel a bit more comfortable with your purchase because you already have a basic idea of the quaility, and important things like that.

I hope this helps! Have fun skating!
