I am on the National Express East Coast train line from Newcastle to London. Somewhere south of York there is a big nuclear power complex. I would say there looks to be like 20 cooling towers in 3-4 clusters situated on both sides of the tracks. Over half of them look to be steaming and currently operating. It's a very impressive site and I have to believe that a very significant amount of power is generated here. Does anyone know what this is and have any information?

  1. The only power station I know around York would be the Drax station in Selby.

    Here is it's wikipedia page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drax_power_...

Apologies if it was not what you was looking for...
