What's the biggest gauge i could pierce/stretch my ear for the first time? ?

I have never had my ear pierced before. I want to get to around 6g or 4g.

If I was you, I'd just stretch mine from a fourteen on up. Thats what I did and I had an 8g two weeks later, but if you want to just pierce them right away, I'd suggest 10g.

This site is the cheapest place to get gauges. HotTopic, Spencers, and pretty much any other place that sells them sells them for about $18 for two gauges.

I know some places will pierce ears at 1/2 inch, so 6 or 4g should be no problem. Just call the piercing shops and ask them if they will pierce at those sizes.
