it's been there for a couple of weeks and looks like a plane coming in to land with the headlights shining down viewed with the naked eye

  1. all that are saying  it is venus, are worthless people who should be in prison  for mis-information.

venus is in the western sky.    If it is jupiter, why is the magnitude so high? way higher than venus? venus is the brightest star in the universe, from earths point of view.  So ask your self why is jupiter so bright?    Could a close star shine on it,to increase its brightness?   Could it be something man made, like a set of lasers focusing on one area blocking something behind it?
